Who is Major Lazer?

ha well when I put his name in Wikipedia this is what I found:

“Major Lazer is a Jamaican commando who lost his arm in the secret Zombie War of 1984. The US military rescued him and repurposed experimental lazers as prosthetic limbs. Since then Major Lazer has been a hired renegade soldier for a rogue government operating in secrecy underneath the watch of M5 and the CIA. His cover is that of a dancehall night club owner from Trinidad and he enlisted the help of long-time allies and uber-producers, Diplo (DJ) and Switch (DJ), to produce his first LP. His true mission is to protect the world from the dark forces of evil that live just under the surface of a civilized society. He fights vampires and various monsters, parties hard, and has a rocket powered skateboard.

Their album, Guns Don’t Kill People…Lazers Do, was recorded in Jamaica at Tuff Gong Studios. Vocalists Santigold, Vybz Cartel, Ward 21, Busy Signal, Nina Sky, Mr. Lexx, Amanda Blank, Ms. Thing, Mr. Vegas, Jovi Rockwell, Future Trouble, Turbulence, Jah Dan, Dr. Evil, Mapei, T.O.K, Einstein, Ricky Blaze, Prince Zimboo, Leftside & Sugahype contribute guest vocals to the album, as well as additional production from Afro Jack and Crookers. [1]

Diplo (DJ) and Switch (DJ) previously worked together to produce artists including Santigold and M.I.A. They were nominated for a Grammy award at the 51st Grammy Awards for their production of the M.I.A song “Paper Planes”, from her album Kala. [2]

This is the first release to come out of the label partnership between Downtown Records and Diplo’s label Mad Decent. The album will be released June 16, 2009″

Marley Coffee to Compete with Starbucks?

This is not a bad idea since almost every time I go in Starbucks they’re playing a Bob Marley song. Add to that the fact that Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee has repeatedly been rated the highest quality coffee in the world year after year.

Bob Marley’s son Rohan Marley is running the operations, and his motivations are to empower farmers in Jamaica, The Caribbean, and The World to grow organic coffee while still being able to earn a buck.

The company has been public now, and at 67 cents a share even I can afford to pick up a few hundred. The ticker symbol is MYCF and it trades on the OTC for now.

How to Make: Jamaican Jerk Chicken

I don’t eat any meat besides fish, but this is a good video of how to prepare Jamaican Jerk Chicken which is one of the foods I’ve grown up on. Considering that the usual videos are in crappy quality, this vid was nice to watch.

The marinading technique can be used for all types of meat as well. (Lamb, Fish, etc.)

Maybe even Veggie Patty, why not.
